Introduction to Project Narnia

The aim of Project Narnia could not be simpler; just to build a bicycle completely out of wood and to use it to challenge the world speed record for wooden bicycles.

As is always the case, once you start to pursue such a target things tend to get a bit more complicated, a bit more involved and more and more people take an interest. This latter point was the reason why the three people involved decided to try and support a charitable cause with the attempt, in this case the Motor Neurone Disease Association, for reasons that will be explained later.

The very fact you are reading this at all means they are reaching out to the wider world in support of the charity, and sincerely hope that you will feel moved at some stage to make a donation via either the MNDA site or the Just Giving site, links for both of which are on the left of this page.

Much of the manufacturing has been accomplished and we are now looking for the right venue for the record attempt, which we hope to organise for early Spring 2013. So, if you are the owner of a track with a long level surface, off the public highways, please get in contact with us, using the email link on the left.
